Has anyone here run any of the RedMax/Komatsu saws? They look 'purty' in the pictures.:D My only Komatsu experience was with a Dozer-a good machine but doesn't tell me much about their 2-cycle engines.

I don't know if it will help ya....my dad has a red max weedeater and has no problems at all with it...no adjustments needed to be made out of the box.I have a stihl weedeater and I think that if i put them side by side.they both have the same engine size that the redmax outperforms the stihl.plus we have used it alot for about 5 years or so ,the durability is there but I don't know about the chainsaws, never knew anyone that had one

In Japan, Red Max is the #1 pro saw sold.
#2 is Shindiawa.
#3 is Echo (Kiortz).

Funny in the USA how some advertising, and big box store sales turns things upside down.

Red Max makes a very, very good saw from 25cc to 62cc.
Going after the landscaper , and upscale homeowner. Not the big cube pro market.

Were very expensive due to high quality, but low volume sales.

Make Stihl's best two cycle trimmer engine on the FS83, and the engine for Shindiawa's best selling back pack blower.

Redmax is a good product and they are trying to get competitive with there saw prices! They just lowered there G621 over $100 from last year to get competitive. The G455 runs as good as anyone's 2.7 cid saw when set up correctly.

Personally I classify Red Max with Echo. Not the most powerful but well built and reliable. The smaller line trimmer engines are what are found on G0-Ped Scooters, sans clutch, they're also popular with the larger scale R.C. stock car group.

I have 2 Redmax saws. A G415AVS and a G561AVS
Very good saws but overpriced. Both are smooth runners and more powerful than I thought they would be. I dual ported the muffler on the G561 and its a screamer. The only complaint is the air filter system on the G561 could be better.

Redmax is trying to get competitive! We can now sell the G621 with 20" bar for $399.99. This is a much better price this year than in years past.
