Thanks for the pic, Mark. That looks exactly like the one that passed through here many moons ago, that high/long oil pump rod and the side oil cover is what reminded me of the OP`s saw.
I found this on internet, I think they said it’s a Remington Mill Saw.Based on the long studs and locating pin between them, I would say that saw started life originally as a right hand recoil Bantam in red. That model was sold alongside later models for several years. The left hand recoil was added as a goof. No way Remington sold it that way.
