My nephew is in South Dakota where his father's family is having a farm estate auction. He called very excited that he had found a real neat chain saw for my collection and wanted to know if I thought I wanted it. Here are the details and yes I looked on Acres Site and couldn't find exactly the same Model:

Farmer's Union Central Exchange Co-op Model 50 Sn:HM171
It is green and white with a Remington bar about 18".

As he described it over the phone it closely matches the Remington Model Super 65:

On Acres site it is:

He said it is in like new condition "maybe used 10 times" with no rust and green and white paint in excellent condition.

So I offered $50. What's it worth?

It is worth that much to me plus shipping just to have him this excited about my saw collecting.

Uh Oh!!! Carl the CAD is about to sink its fangs again i can feel it coming! haha those saws are pretty cool unfortunately ive never seen one and have no idea what they should run. Probably more than what youre offering they are rare in my neck of the woods never seen one for sale in use etc. etc.

It is hard to put a specific value on a vintage saw. To one person it is just an old piece of junk and to another it is a treasure. I like them for their styling and the for the quality of their construction. I would think that $50 would be a fair price if the saw is as nice as your nephew says it is. I hope he knows how to pack the saw for safe shipment so that the Ooups man or the Fed Executioner of boxes do not destroy it.

If it is like new and it was on ebay I would bid up to abot $150. for it :)
