Hi all, I've got a Husky 359 (older model without the stupid ETech cat conv.) and want to pull the spark arrestor out (and leave it out). Will pulling the spark arrestor out make the saw run slightly more lean (higher RPM)?

If so I guess I'd need to re-adjust the carb? I would think so but I wanted to check. I'm ordering a tach so I should be able to do this myself.

If adjustment is needed, which...hi, low, idle (or all three?) will need it?

Relative newbie here, thanks for any information. This is a great forum.

Welcome to the site Stump Thumper

I dont think you'll need to adjust after simply removing the spak screen, but a slight turn say1/10 turn out on the H screw cant do much harm. if the saw starts to 4 stroke at WOT then its set perfectly and needs no adjustment.

Now if you were opening the muffler up to get some more power from it, then you MUST adjust the carb or you'll ruin the saw.

Stump thumper, if you can weld or know someone who can, why not just port your muffler? There's a great thread at the top of the page it has pictures too. You'll soon be ruined:D Good luck
John
