I cut a good amount of firewood with my husky 51. It is getting old and is going to become a hobby saw before long. Iam wondering what would be a good saw to replace it with? husky 346xp, or jonsered cs2149. any info on these saws would be helpful. Iwas told the husky is one bad saw, but haven't had the chance to run one yet.the wood i am cutting is mostly white oak, hickory, red oak, and cherry. I want to run a 18" bar, what kind of setup should i use? .58 gauge with full chiesl, or arbor pro narrow kerf? Thanks for the input.

The natural replacement for the 51 is the 353/2152, I would say - but none of those is at their best with an 18" bar, and full bar cuts, and the 346xp is even less so.

As you have a 365, put 16" bars on the small saw, and use the 365 for anything larger.....;)

....btw, I have a 16" one for my 372xpg as well.....:blob2: :blob2:

A Dolmar PS-5100S will probably handle an 18" bar better than any 3 cube Husky/Jred.

I've heard good things about the 346, almost bought one myself but i went with the Dolmar 5100s. Either two of these would be a good replacement.
