Has anyone changed belts on the Rayco mini work force. I have the RG20HD. The guy at the place where I get parts said to loosen the mounting nuts on the engine and slide it forward to release the tension of the belts. I loosen the nuts but can't budge the engine. The engine alone has to weigh 300 lbs. How are you suppose to "slide" it forward?

if i remember correct there should be an adjustable bolt that pushes engine forward or backwards, handle end of machine the engine moves via this ..pm rborist1 he's got one sure he will help

I had a HD20 and there are two bolts to push the motor. One for each direction. Make sure you loosened all other bolts, I think 4-6 to loosen + the two to adjust the motor.

Steven, Loosen the four engine hold downs ( or more if you have an engine I'm not familiar with). Loosen the two bolts that hold the inner belt guard to the engine. Back off on the tensioning bolt( what pushes the engine rearward to tension the belts) now push or pull on the middle of the belt itself to give yourself leverage for moving the engine.

thanks for the info. I definately have to look for more bolts. I loosened 2 in rear of the machine under the gas tank. The front of the engine mounting pad appeared to be pinned slots that slide. I have the Kholer 20 hp engine on it.

I have an Rg12 from about 1992. It has four hold down bolts but pins in the front holes would be adequate-you probably got an improved design. Check for those belt guard anchors-they are probably what has been holding you back.:)
