Is it difficult to change the clutch springs? I'm pretty mechanical but haven't worked on chain saws, can I do it myself? Do I need special tools?
Reason I'm asking is that the chain is moving pretty fast at idle and i don't have much money right now to spend on the saw if I can repair it myself. Thanks in advance!

It's easy... can be done in 5 minutes without removing the clutch (you do need to remove the clutch drum though! Just block the piston with some type of stop to stop the clutch rotating when you pull on the springs.
