I have an old Homelite a guy gave to me.. and somehow sand had gotten into the gas tank (i say it was a mad Girlfriend!) haha.. but my question is it got all corrodid in there would it be easier to soak gas in there or take it all apart and clean it that way.. someone also suggested soap and water to soak in there but, i think ill check around first! =P

You might try putting a handfull of gravel in the tank with some water and shake the devil out of it. The gravel will clean the corrosion.
