Rg1635sj dilema

A little help is needed .Just finished taking a look at 08RG1635sj it is in good + condition .The belts that run the grinding wheel are attached to a clutch,that in turn is attached to the engine (35hp).I'm only used to a lever handle system.Is this OK?? .Or is this system used for the rental market only.

That's pretty typical seem all the lower horsepower machines are clutch engaged , they work good low idle engagement and allow the wheel to slow after use again to the same idle as the engine before disengaging , it is more damaging to disengage A clutch at high idle then to engage one at high idle

thats a pretty standard setup.
