I was hoping you guys might have some tips to help with this situation. 2 trees, 1 being worked on, 1 being rigged out of, house / other immovable object in between the two. In the past the rope has had to be walked around the house / immovable object and then sent up from there. Swing the piece back over the object and lay it down over there. Rope has to be walked around the object again.

Any time saving tricks?

i take it the roof isn't a nice, solid plateau.

Line in each tree, also use climber's side as haulback for other line; even if that is 2 in the other tree?

Lower from your tree(cut load, let hang) as truck pulls load over house(tied, running bowlined by throwline closer to growing tip of load) using the asset of the pictured long drive on that pull axis, mebbe also carrying part of load on 2nd support line in other tree too. Float out to drive at 4 o'clock angle, rather than 6 on lowering line, in a soft hammock carry between the lowering and pull lines?

How much clearance to roof?

Kenny, I am just using that particular picture for a model. I simply wanted to show what I was talking about with 2 trees, and an object in between them.

I'm guessing the tree your working in will stand loading, so just set a drift line. You will be ablw to load and transfer across the house and haulback for the next peice. Having a winch, fiddleblocks, truck can be helpful. I've only had this work well with relatively light peices (under 400#) But if thats what you need to do then thats it. :blob2:

I have always preferred to swing logs and brush away from me, and just have the line swung back by the groundie. However there have been times where in order for the groundie to swing the rope back to me, they have to walk around a house, bushes, etc. which takes time. What is a good haulback line, and where do you guys tie it off to?

Straight forward stuff mate.

Your lowering rope is set high in the tree near the driveway (target).

Accompanying your lower rope is a tag line (so you can pull the cut piece past the tree with the lowering rope onto the target area (driveway).

In the tree you are working on you have another tag line. Run it through a pulley or natural crotch close to the cutting action. To get friction on this tag line take wraps at the base of the tree your working on. This tag line prevents the natural swing of the cut piece going straight across the top of the house and slamming into the tree you're using for lowering.

As the cut piece reaches the tree near the driveway you can use the other tag line to pull it past that tree onto the driveway.

when you go to cut the next piece you just get the guy on the tree your working in to "pull up" and it's all back to you for the next go.

I'm certainly no artist but I did a rough sketch, you'll get the idea.
