I searched with no luck for a link someone posted about a year ago for a PDF rigging manual with a bunch of numbers and research in it. It was replete with information on rigging knots, rigging cuts, diagrams etc.

Can I anybody help me out?

International Society of Arboriculture

link to Arbormaster, also a good one

Something to keep in the back of your mind, "the man who wrote the book" on rigging was tragically killed in a rigging accident. He knew more science and had more experience then most, hell he invented a lot of the science. A great lost. But it shows no ones immune.

Interesting. It's true that people with greater knowledge actually tend to take greater risks. I know the same is true for avalanche fatalities. There is a bimodal distribution in the demographics of people most frequently killed, those who know the least, and those who know the most. The middle ground seems to be the safe zone.

Fur sure beast, can happen to all of us. Ex head of the ISA, was in a tree doing a rec climb with several other master arbs, they did all the proper stuff, was up in the canopy of a big one and the tree uprooted. He died from the fall. Anytime anyplace, the hammer cometh.
