Do tree climbers use kernmantle ropes for rigging? I'm asking because I have several I could use as opposed to buying a new dynasorb

I don't know of anyone that uses kernmantle rope for rigging. Does it even come in bigger sizes? Might be ok for a zip line.
Check out husky rope. I bought some 5/8in. Super good price (200 ft X 5/8in=200.00) I use 1/2in 3 strand rope a lot for lighter rigging, works good in natural crawches, and it doesn't cost much, yet is tough.

I use some 1/2" kernmantle occasionally for light rigging. My main rope is a 5/8" husky though.

I use 1/2" static kermantal rope for rigging all the time. The rope I use us rated for 9,900lbs MBS. It is a stiffer rope, so have to make sure you set your knots good. It wears a lot better then any arborist rope I have found yet when natural crotching.

We have one we use for running zip lines on. It's great for that. You don't get that bow as much.
I could see it wearing well, but its sure is a stiff rope and hard to knot and I like a little stretch in my ropes. I am a big fan of Dynasorp and Husky.
