Lots of times when I hook a carabiner to my bridge, because of the angle of attachment it'll twist what I'm attaching it to. I find this really annoying, especially with a gri gri. Many times I have to take it off and reverse the biner to make the rope ride right.
I'm thinking of adding a ring, or maybe better a small swivel to my rope bridge. I may buy a AMP swivel it's only 39.00. But then again I don't want to be cheap with my life support. Anyone have any experience with this swivel and is it good for life support? Or is a swivel overkill and using just a ring good?
Anyone else have this problem and how did you deal with it? Thanks

I've been climbing on a treemotion for about 2 years and it's pretty comfortable for big fat ass guys like me. It has a ring on the bridge. The tree motion really does give you a very full range of motion in terms of being able to twist, spin and reach in all kinds of positions at all angles to the rope but you can twist yourself into a knot pretty quick too. You then end up having to pole strap in so you can untangle the mess.

I bought the petzl swivel (the large one) which is supposed to be very good. I guess it is, but i didn't like it. Like another poster says above, it actually introduces twist into the rope when there wouldn't otherwise be any. Especially in free hanging rope only ascents. I find its worse than not having it.... you end up fussing with it, twisting it back etc... when the rope would have otherwise been fine by itself. I went back to just using the ring and planning my movements a little better. Nothing worse than being up a tree and feeling an unplanned movement coming on.

I bought a ring today. At $5.00 it seemed the easiest one to try out first. Thanks for the input.
The swivels i look at seemed like they would be a little bulky on my saddle, I like the little two holed pulley idea also, but they didn't have one in stock today. It's a 100 mile + drive to bishop supplies store from where I live. I spend half the day in L.A. traffic. That's more tiring then a day of work.
