Ok so I sell bundles and occasionally I throw a rack out front that’s just under a face cord of campfire wood mostly softwood.. so it’s actually selling well and I want to make a stand that holds bundles I’d say at least 15 ish with some sort of roof that looks decent but isn’t huge.. I sell year round so this would help with some snow and “the rack” I guess I’m not to worried about.. I just want it to look presentable instead of this haha .... some are orange because that’s how I tell customers it’s softwood instead of hardwood which is on the right

I use a 4ftx4ftx7ft metal caibnet. Holds 30 bundles and keeps them dry. Was an old .mil firehose dryer I got for free from a customer.

Has worked ok, but some people are idiots and can't operate a simple set of doors. They get left open or closed backward and the wind rips them open. That or they fling them open in 60mph winds without a care.
They are pretty well shot now.
Irritating because I spent a good 30hrs modifying that cabinet and painting it.

Looking to go with a vending machine though.

"idiots" is completely unacceptable, but funny none the less.
The politically correct term is 'clowns'.

clowns, idiots, morons, etc, etc, all the same. Wasn't to anyone in specific, as it happened multiple times. I didn't expect that a 2 door setup where one had to be closed before the other would be an issue.

Either way, my point was that whatever gets used for a roadside stand, keep it simple and make it bulletproof (around here... literally, there's road signs shot up all over the place!)

Here is what it looked like when I set it up last year.

And the logs were a wise idea. Had at least 2 people hit into them. One hard enough that it pushed the log into the fence and busted that up a bit (there's a big set of racks for bundles there, wasn't built in the pic)

Trusting that when left alone, most people are still honest. So far it's been fine, though I'm looking into vending systems, a bit for that, some for the "cool factor" that I think will draw in people, but also for being able to track sales, take credit cards, and not have to make monitoring the thing yet another job.

This is all on the honor system isn’t it? How do you guys keep people from stealing wood
