Anybody using roll-off trailers like the one shown in this attachment for debris cleanup. I was thinking this might solve my dilema of wanting a bigger dump trailer but not being able to reach into it with my mini skid loader. With a roll-off dump body, I could set it on the gound and be able to load into a dump body with 60" sides. I also see that they come with hook or winch to load/unload the body and that you can get roll-off flatbeds and enclosed bodies and that some models come with roll tarps.

Very interesting idea - just curious if anyone has experience with them and if so, what body styles you have and whether it was a good investment vs a regular dump trailer...

I know of one guy in my area that uses a roll off and he also transports his skid loader in it.

I was seeing that as another benefit of being able to sit the dump body flat on the ground - I could load a brush chipper or stump grinder into it much easier than onto my deckover dump trailer if the need ever arose.

That could really work out well for you. I would just be real careful about damaging the driveway or street. Also I would think you could over load it and not be able to pull it back up.

Valid point about the driveway or lawn damage. Not too worried about street damage in my town - If the can handle big trucks, they should handle a roll-off trailer.

I don't see overloading it being a problem. From what I've read, the loading hooks or winches (either option) on the roll-offs are pretty stout. But I could see puting all that weight on the back rollers when loading up and cracking a driveway - that would be a lot of weight on just those two rollers.

It also has me thinking about the load angle - if it's fairly steep at all, one would have to be careful about loading too high and shifting a load of logs to where the trailer becomes back-heavy.

More things to check into before getting too serious about it obviously...

I was considering one before I bought my dump trailer but seems like it would not dump well at all. Nothing worse to me than having to unload when it is supposed to unload itself.
My Brimar has a very steep dump angle, still have to spread it out to dump but you don't have to climb in and push or lift stuff out of it unless it gets caught a little on the tie down rings.
