I'm using a Stihl FG4 file roller guide on my MS361 and 500I and would like to try the Husqvarna version. Anyone have any idea on which one would work on Stihl 3/8" pitch, 13/64" files?
Thanks
They sort of fit, but the husky guide gives 10deg down angle, where as stihl requires 90deg to the bar, or 0 angle, and you may need to file out the guide so it slips onto the stihl chassis, it also puts the file in a different height to the stihl guides.
For bringing back a tooth damaged, its handy, but just use a normal stihl guide and 5.2 file for stihl chains.
found that the husky roller guide works well on carlton chain.
Like what Trains said... my neighbor has used the Husky roller guide and on his Stihl saws with 3/8" chains. I pointed out that with the down angle he has been cutting into the side strap. He now knows.
