Will leaving a knot in your climbing rope weaken the rope? Such as leaving a carabiner tied on, or a figure 8 with a bight tied in.
 
I am not concerned about it being tied on while stored...but I think an advantage of untying it is that it will be in a slightly different place every time so that will spread the wear out a little. That also forces you to periodically inspect the rope end - even if not intentionally, jsut as you tie the knot. If you wanted to leave it tied for some reason so it is ready to go, I might suggest untying it when you are done then retie the knot before you put it away.

I don't think it will, even if it does the wear from regular use will be more than that, so it's not an issue other than the memory left in the rope from the knot being there for a long time.
