Hmfff... "tried to ban us from Ebay for selling rope too cheap". -Hardly. I don't know about Paypal, but for those of us who accept Credit Cards it is a contract violation (illegal) to charge a surcharge for accepting them.

Stephen, I hope your purchase goes well but I would not deal with those people.

its not uncommon for people to charge the surcharge on e-bay to cover their paypal fees so i can only assume its not illegal.

as for my deal going well, that remains to be seen. i have bought heaps of stuff on e-bay and so far i haven't been ripped off. its always a little bit of a gamble. though if you pay with paypal you have legal protection anyways.

e-bay is full of entrapreneurs(spelling?) and its quite ammusing their sales pitches, some simply dont have a clue how to advertise professionally.

I like Ebay. Hundreds of transactions have gone well for me. As a businessman I understand disliking "losing" 3.5% to fees. I also understand that immediate payment is worth something. That is why I accept credit cards. If I can't afford to give up 3.5% in order to make a sale my price was TOO low. Like I said-I hope that it all goes well. I choose not to deal with those who present theemselves as this person does.:angel:
