Rope splicing

Just wondering if many people on here splice their own lines?
Just starting to try and learn to eye splice 16 strand safety blue, I won't be climbing off it purely just a learning exercise for now

I splice my own lanyards.

I dabble but not for life support right now. From my research 16 strand would be my last choice (most challenging) type of rope to learn to splice. Can always send a sample out for break testing if you want to build some confidence. I started with double braid.
