Hello all. I'm fairly new to climbing and only use it for tree work, I'm not into rec climbing much, except to get comfortable with new gear before a job. I just got a rope walker upgrade kit from wes spur which I'm impatiently waiting to try out. I've previously only climbed with double rope. Any tips or suggestions before I get into it? I plan on practicing going from a sent to descent at about 5-10 feet off ground a few times before going up very high

So I got to try my new gear out and it will definitely take some more practice to make it smooth, but is already faster than how I climbed before. One issue I'm having is switching from ascent to descent while on the rope, if I step out onto a limb it's very easy to change over. I'm currently using a standard figure 8, any suggestions?

Thanks

The following three videos talk about a sit-stand style of SRT climbing, but the adjustable tether discussed therein is a useful tool you can make yourself. The first video is mostly discussion, the second describes how to make the adj-tether, and the third shows it being used for a change-over from ascend to descend.
