I was using a long dowel attached to the router to push and pull and that was fine. Yesterday I got to thinking and incorporated a flat, thin piece of hardwood that enables you to put pressure down on the router base for a no hop and skip on the push. Worked incredibly smooth. It took me 45 minutes to plane flat then another 45 to sand baby ass smooth. Half an hour later...lacquered to luster.View attachment 201298View attachment 201299View attachment 201300

That is too cool, seriously. Beautiful surface with a simple tool. Gonna make me one :) Thanks for the idea.

Be so kind to mention which router bit you were using?
Belt sanding or buzz sander.....and which grits?
What will be the finish for this project your doing?

Awesome piece of work there, well worth the time it took that's for sure! And thanks for showing off the jig box thingy....simple design and easy to use!
