RPM Issue on Husqvarna 150BT Gas Leaf Blower

Hello friends, I have a new Husqvarna 150BT leaf blower that runs best at 3/4 throttle. As soon as I squeeze the throttle all the way the RPM's drop off significantly. Fortunately, it has a "cruise control" feature that allows me to lock the throttle at the 3/4 position and I get a pretty good volume of air blowing but I'm sure it's not running at full speed. I thought it might be a dirty or clogged air cleaner, but it still looks like new. I run Echo Red Armor 2 cycle oil mixed 40/1 in all my 2-cycle equipment in case someone was going to ask. Any suggestions on how to remedy this will be appreciated.

Hi, if its new new take it back to the dealer or if its new to you, adjust the high screw.

Without holding it in my hands, sounds like a 1/4 turn on the high jet may be needed to lean it some, clockwise.

Mine is a newer model which doesn't allow access to the high speed jet.

This is a newer model, which to my understanding doesn't have access to the high speed jet

When the engine is warm, put your hand over the nozzle and see if the revs increase when you pin the throttle.
It maybe that it needs a 50/1 to rev out cleanly!
What can also affect the high speed running is the pipe configuration, make sure all the pipes are attached

Those carbs usually have adjustment screws. But special tool needed to adjust and are not easily seen. Dealer should have it.

I am surprised that no one has said check the exhaust screen. #1 repair on a leaf blower in the shop.

he said it was new, but then again should have picked up on plugged exhaust too- as lots of people call "their" stuff new when it is in fact 2+ years old with 20 tanks of fuel ran through it. i presume it is under a month old with only a tank or two of fuel used

So if you have a Echo designed for 50:1, but you thunk it shud run 40:1, 32:1, or 16:1 bc U think U smarter than the Engineers.... you are running it LEAN and U R WRONG and will be surprised when it suddenly seizes or loses compression. and ran s* when it ran and wud not top out... OTOH, if you are running fresh gas at 50:1 and suddenly having trouble getting to high speed, REPLACE THE FUEL FILTER IMMEDIATELY.

That would be long enough for some operators. From shop experience. Wasps work pretty fast also.

Yeah. Running 40:1 in something meant to run 50:1, that would be my first guess too. Oil content higher than designed for.

Blower is made to run at wide open for 95% or more of its life. Unless the OP uses it just barley above idle all day, every day, I don't see it being clogged screen or exh. port.

Plus, he is using good oil.... Red Armor. 40:1 at full beans is how I run my echo blower and CS-490..... no plugging up here.

Is it possible? Sure. May be worth a look at both screen and exh. port if all other avenues produce no results.

I would be curious to see wireless tach readings at these 2 points he describes.
