i was just looking on the Stihl site and noticed that RS chain is no longer available in 3/8...though it is still made for .325 and .404.

Just bought 2 loops of RS 3/8 over the net. Still out there, just got to look.

I have lots of new loops of RS, RSC, RM, and RM2. I do not see a difference between the RS and the RSC.

Take a real close look at the heals of the cutters, and you should notice a difference.

The RSC, RSC3 and RMC have "adopted" the anti-vibe chassis design from Oregon LP, VP, BP, AP, DP, etc. I like it! :D

The "C" stands for "Comfort".

Surely there will be RS in 3/8" in the pipeline for some time, but it is officially discontinued.

Maybe we are talking something different.. my reply way about the cutting performance of RSC verses RS. I find even the RSC3 cuts pretty good. Put one on by mistake and really didn't notice a lot of difference!

Last time I pick up some loops I got the last one of RS and the first RSC sold at my dealer. With the 036 in some rather tough cutting I could not tell one from the other, speed, or comfort. You guys wont have to worry about me running up the price of the remaining RS, LOL

Yes, we obviously were....:greenchainsaw:

Was there any difference at all in the cutting?

The RSC3 has "inherited" both the anti-vibe feature and kick-back reducing feature from the Oregon LP. If it is any slower than the RS/RSC at all, they have probably made the small ramps on the drivers a bit too large (they look blunter than the original in the pictures I have seen, but I was hoping that Stihl didn't make such a mistake).

I suspect that some Oregon controlled patents must have run out some time ago.....
