What is wrong with the RS? If you are scared about kickback then you had better learn to use a saw. Is that it?

RS is gone.. replaced with RSC. Any in the system is just old stock. The RSC3 is the safety that replaced the RM2 (even though it sucks in dirty wood for homeowners).

And yes, a lot of Stihl dealers make more money off their weed eaters, blowers, etc than they do chainsaws in 'some parts' of the country; hence, they don't stock much chain or spare parts for saws. My local dealer promises me that he can get anything within three days; but, stocks very few items. To compensate for this, I keep a good supply of the most obvious spare parts in my shop at all times.

WTF, RSC is NOT low kickback, it IS pro chain. RSC3 is low kickback. RS is being phased out by RSC, like andy said. My dealer dosen't have ANY more RS, just RSC. And RSC is smoother and faster(I think) than RS. :hmm3grin2orange:

No...kickback isn't the issue. The RSC is supposed to be smoother, less vibration isn't is? I had him put the RS on the 660 and the 046.
But am wondering why the dealer doesn't carry ANY of the RSC chain.

He just might want to get rid of his stock of RS first.......

I just bought two loops of RSC. I went and asked for RS, not knowing they didn't stock it anymore, and they handed me the RSC....not low kickback, fast cutting...I liked it!
