The Midatlantic Chapter of the ISA is hosting a Senior Climbing contest at their Field Day Sep 29. They have 12 entries so far; room for 4 more. If you are over 40 and want to swing with some other fogeys, contact www.mac-isa.org.
WANTED--DEAD OR ALIVE!
I went to their Field Days last year--1/3 of their annual conference--and was really impressed by macisa's commitment to advancing tree care. If you go this year, PLEASE bring samples of old "stubs" that you may come across, dead or alive. They can be dissected and used as samples for a "heading cut" presentation that we're doing. I had to because the climbing competition--which I easily qualify for in terms of age--doesn't have a "ladder and polesaw" category, and I don't know any other way to climb.
