I lucked out ,found a sachs dolmar 119 under a pile in a parts trailer. Runs and cuts like a champ, quality above usual saws.question are parts still available from dolmar?? frank

Hey Bandmiller,
You will fall in love, too. Iv'e had my 119 for a couple of years, parts are no problem ( only thing I have had to buy is a chainbrake band and the usual filters) Really nice saw, a little heavy, but strong.

I hate to bust the bubble on this one, but the cylinder is discontinued from Dolmar and has been for over 7 years. This does not mean that all the dealers nationwide are out of stock, but getting a cylinder could be a challenge.

sachs model 119

I too have a mid 1980's Sachs Dolmar 119. It's on its second cylinder/piston/ring assembly (due to a straight gas run by my brother!:(

Where can I get parts? I need an air filter really badly and my be looking at another top end soon.

I dont know of any Dolmar wholesalers that have cylinder and pistons in stock. The piston is still available and the cylinder are able to be honed (depending on the depth of the scoring).
The Dolmar wholesaler for MA is:
RD Faulkner
146 Parkway South
Brewer, ME 04412
207-989-3792
They would be my first call for parts in your area, they also will know of any dealers in your area that may be able to help.

Also the last filter we sold was in 1996 and the part was discontinued.
The company that bought the last filters is listed below, however I am sure they are out of business.
SHERER SALES COMPANY
OLD HWY 78 EAST
JASPER AL 35501 PHONE# 205/387-1178
There inventory may have been sent to another Dolmar Wholesler
Saws Unlimited
Kinston, NC

Dont you hate loaning things and letting someelse tear them up?

Dolmar Tech guy:
I wish there were a few more like you out there. There are dealers who haven't a clue where to get parts for stuff for any number of reasons...including not wanting to bother with your old thing, or the manufacturer has had trouble finding a distributor that is healthy enough to stay afloat.

I have a roto-tiller that needs a couple oif things; I called the mfgr, and even they couldn't help me out. The original MFGr went belly up, and sold at auction. The buyer just wanted the buildings for warehouse space, selling off the brand name name and mfg fixtures for $1, plus a tight time limit to get the stuff moved.

In the rush, alot of stuff was lost, including records. They can't even tell me when it was made...
sigh....

Thanks, I appreciate the compliment. I know that Dolmar is not out there doing ESPN Timbersports so I have to do what I can whenever I can and well this website has been the biggest playing field for me to reach as many as I can. I will continue to use it to help with "EVERY" situation involved.

Hey Guys,
I had no problem at all getting an air filter for mine from my local Dolmar dealer last year. Had it in 2 days. I do not know who he got it from though.

The Dolmar wholesaler in Ohio is:
LW Meyer and Son
Sullivan, WI
They are one of the two oldest Dolmar wholesalers in the US and there parts supply for older saws will probably be larger than the rest.
But due to the age of the products the length of time that these items have been discontined will way heavily the availablity of these parts. On the flipside these parts havent been in high demand for many years so some may still exist.

You guys are great! I just got an air filter for my 119 from LW Meyer and Sons out in WI. He said they have one more left and it'll fit the 119 and 120.

Once again, glad i could help. Resources are key and also sometimes hard to find.

Terry
