Hey guys. I need another opinion. I had a guy bring in a sachs dolmar 112 that has a bad coil, a scratched piston (minor) and has bad gas in it. He does not want to put a money in to it and is probably going to trade it in on some work to his 044. The question is: How hard is it to find a coil for this saw and what do they run? What about the carb. kit? Also with all things being in good condition other than the coil what is this worth if I take it in trade? The reason I am asking is that I have never even seen one before and I know a lot of you guys back east seem to really like them. Any help would be great.

Coil PN 112 143 000 -- about $50

I'd have to call to check on availability.
Sometimes you have to upgrade the entire ignition system, flywheel and coil, and that will be more like $150.

Does it have a Bing or Tillotson Carb?

I would say it's not worth a whole lot not running. Maybe $50 in the condition it's in. Depends on if some one is looking for parts or has parts to fix it.

Does it have points or the electronic trigger? Is it possible that the coil is okay and the electronic trigger or points are bad?
