Hello, My name is Dan and I am a avid rock climber, and I am interested in switching to trees, which I see has few simularities. I have done some ascents, tie ins, descents out of a small tree just practicing, but I have had no direct instruction on tree climbing (I also do not have a tree harness, or a 1'2" rope I am using a rock climbing harness and a 10.2 mm Dyno, but will be getting "Tree working" gear soon enough.) anyone near Saint louis know of any training events I can learn more? Thank you....

Dan

P.S. I am a certified arborist, I have a job I love, so I can't "get a job as a groundie" somewhere to learn the "ropes". I just want to learn safely and responsibly. Thank you again.

Call the guys at Droege Tree. I know a couple of them through the ISA ITCC events. They may be willing to help you out.

If your able (although I know its short notice) the Midwest ISA tree climbing championships are this saturday in Manhattan Ks. Hit I-70 west about 1 1/2hrs west of KC.

Hollar at me if you need/want anymore info.

Thanks

Yeah the Midwest chapter sent me info on the climbing comp, I am very interested but is a bit of a drive. I saw Droege on the ISA site but had no E-mail. Thanks for the info!
