Samson Blue Streak rope

Last week I heard someone mention Samson Blue Streak as being a good rigging/lowering line. The only Blue Streak I could find is the ArborMaster climbing line. Anyone know if they make a rigging line as well?

you will probably find there using the climbing line as a rigging line.

i wouldnt as i use the same rope, for my climbing.

using it for a rigging line aswell would just get confusing for my ground men,

also i would think there would be to much stretch in the rope as well.

buy a proper rigging line and play it safe.

i was told by a guy a while ago, theres no point in using old climbing lines as rigging lines cause if you wont climb on it you sure as hell shouldnt be rigging with it.

Exactly - dedicated climbing lines, dedicated rigging lines. When you retire a rope, it should stay retired, not reassigned.

Alot of guys like the ArborMaster for climbing and rigging (8,100 lbs rating). Blue Streak, Gold Streak or Black/White/Red. Color and patterns should designate it's use, and make sure the groundies know which is which.

The 1/2 inch Stable Braid is a better choice for rigging, but it has to be used with a pulley or block, not natural crotch rigging. A lot stronger and a lot less stretchy.:yoyo:

Actually he uses XTC ? climbing line and wanted the Blue Streak as solely a lowering line. That's why I was surprised as I could only find the Blue Streak Arbormaster climbing line. He was saying it's got a lower breaking strength than 1/2" Stable Braid per say, but higher stretch making it useful for certain situations (don't ask me as I have no idea). Was wondering if you guys that are more knowledgeable than me know what he was talking about...
