Saw winter operation

Husky owners (maybe other too) Do you punch out the passage between intake and cylinder on the top cover for the cold season? If so any noticeable improvements.

Today a saw was dumping bar oil in my truck, and while fiddling with it I remembered that older units had a slider window for winter. Popped the cover and there it is, a provision for one, just cut it out with an exacto and baaam. Had huskys for a while now and never noticed :monkey:

Nope.

I just adjust the saw for the cold and run it. Never had a problem, and don't expect to. Then again if it gets below -20 or so, I ain't cutting much.

Some of our guys up by Santa clause might make use of it though.
