new to the forum and sawmilling just got my circle saw going this weekend and I am have some troubles. when i cut a board the tail end is 1/4 less than when i started my cut. I think the blade is being pushed out. Can anyone help me out?

If the blade is running, the first thing to check is usually sharpness and set. If one side is sharper or set out farther than the other, it will pull the blade. A generally dull blade will also cut hotter and possibly cause the blade to wobble.

I assume you've already checked your blade for being parallel to the track?

yes the blade is parrallel to the track and yesterday we put all new teeth in it and it didn't seem to make any changes in how it cut. how do you determine what speed the saw is suppose to be at or if it needs rehammered?

That would be my guess. Find someone who hammers blades, and see what is going on...

Those guys are getting fewer and farther between with every passing year...

There are a few factors in determining a saw's optimal RPM. Blade diameter, tooth count/hook angle/set, type/hardness of wood being cut, the feed speed of the mill carriage, etc. etc.. Here's a handy online calculator for that kind of thing:

I think you might find some help with your runout problem on page 42 (book page, not document page) of this PDF that I found a couple days ago:

Circular Sawmills And Their Efficient Operation

I've only really skimmed the surface so far, but it looks like it'll make a good reference. There's a lot of info on feed/saw speed on p.48 as well.
