I have a new to me 1990s SC252. I’m thinking of towing it on its own, are they road worthy? I had a Dyslexic moment haha. Its a 252

The duals have to come off to tow it alone. I personally wouldn't do it. It looks mickey mouse to me, at least I wouldn't go far or fast. I always put mine on a trailer.

#1 The small circumference wheels create too much bearing speed and you will fry a lot of bearings.
#2 The narrow spread of the axle makes it unstable.
#3 It has no suspension.Every bump and hole impacts the entire unit.

I agree with Mike. I would not flat tow it.You could probably find a small used trailer for a buck or two until you can get a nicer one. The machine will thank you for it.

I tow my sc 602 :)

Betcha ya can't get it into a lanai to grind a stump though:msp_biggrin:

In a perfect world ,I would have both sizes.I usually sub out any stump that I think will take me more than 45 min to an hour on.Not worth the wear & tear on the little one.

You would be amazed at where I have gotten it sometimes takes my four wheel drive to get there though!
