They are both equally bad. I'm surprised ebay has allowed this.
Does ebay not have any health and sanitation rules? can you say biohazard? Both buyer and seller must be crazy here. John

thes a fella on there now. selling bow bars but they aint no safey hook onum...
i emailed him an told him he oughta put people wise to that or somebody gonna get killed. .. he didnt seem o care one way or the other... now that to me is just plain sorry..

sedan, it was acheapo electric saw with blood all over it. The guy claimed he bought it, and 45 minutes later he was in the ER having his fingers practically re-attached. Must have grabbed a spinning chain. Ebay probably pulled the auction, as that thing sure violated sanitationand public health laws. John

It also had photos of the guy's torn up hand with lots 'o stiches going across three fingers. The saw was a low-end Remington that had been bid up to around $120.

I aint dumb enough to bid on a saw that has only stock photos and a description written in poor english, as well as no feedback on the seller. If I buy a saw its either from a reputable ebay seller or I get it from a local dealer, NOT some seller claiming to have a saw with no model # no engine data, poor spelling, and no feedback.

Right. That Makita auction has only an extremely general description of what the actual deliverable item being auctioned even is. Making an assumption on that could land the buyer a $190 model 34, if they are lucky, since they could end up with nothing but a hard lesson.

I am sure many of us get the scammers wanting to sell us saws at rock-bottom prices. I love to screw with them. You ask for an actual photo. Then you ask for a serial number, AFter that ask for a pic of the serial number. This generally sends them away. The best csm artist was teh guy that send me a pic of an 088 sitting on Lambert's deck railing. This guy was lreally lazy. He then just made up a serial number that made no sense.

really mess with the guy

it is obvious it is a total scam, so lets mess with him back! Bid it up, I mean WAY up. What is he gonna do when no one pays? report us? I am pretty sure he has to pay the listing fee anyway. Unless he cries to ebay, at which point you getto reply and point out to them that they are letting these crooks put that crap on te site in the first place.
Grrrrr.. I am just so sick of these people.

Can eBay so closely police itself as to verify the validity of every little item offered?  It looks like they're just doing about the same thing as the US Patent Office, who are quite busy rubber-stamping patents on every little method of doing things with a computer, no matter how obvious or long-standing a practice is.

But this is really all off-topic-forum material.

Thanks, guys, when I saw that auction, I didn't give much thought as to it being a scam.

Which it surely is, given all the signs. As well, the guy didn't return my email from yesterday...

I see you guys haven't started the bid game yet...start with $66,666.66...

I have sent the seller three emails without a response. I inquired about shipping costs, Paypal payments, and if any additional saw were available.
