That's some tough love right there... 👍

I think some people don't realize what a hassle HOA's *can* be before it's too late. Or they want to live in a specific neighborhood. Or their wife wants a picket fence and 2.5 kids. Or... whatever. But yes, mostly avoidable.
Yep, it’s definitely in the fine print 😆

A coworker of mine built a new home in an HOA (against all of us warning him against it 🤷‍♂️) and has shared all kinds of experiences that I have no sympathy for the situation. It has been such a mess with people making up arbitrary rules that he got on the board to try to head off the BS.

I guess when you’re retired and having nothing better to do during your morning neighborhood walks than to nit pick every little blade of grass on someone’s driveway, or the shade of green you painted your mailbox not being the same as the others, or the length of time you leave your garage door open at one time you’re going to have that.

I'm attempting to get the centrifugal clutch off of an Echo CS271T. Turning it clockwise to loosen, it's not budging. Am I going the correct way? Haven't been able to find this information.

It is left hand thread.

Where you there before the HOA ?
My grandparents place right around the corner was, used to be nothing but backwoods cow fields until about 25 years ago.

The property I bought no. The whole back property line is an upscale neighborhood. All of them that I have met are nice though and I’m still zoned ag. I can fire my guns and do what I want pretty much. The only time they bother me is when a tree falls over the line. I go clean it up, they offer to buy me dinner, I know it’s technically not my responsibility for what falls on their side but hey, I’m a scrounger so I’d be trying to cut it up anyway.

The people I talked to were afraid a developer was going to buy so I think they are happy with us being here.

So you aren’t under their control you just abut their property ?

Your date broke the toilet? Big girl? Or am I misunderstanding altogether?
Lol, no. Spent 90% of Saturday with my arse on it trying to figure out what creature from hell was trying to come out of it. Couldn't get more then 3 steps away from the bathroom before it would hit again. Came in hard around 11am and I basically didnt leave the bathroom till around 6pm, at which point made it out to the sofa. A date would have been preferred, at least that would have ended rather quickly.
I'll have to let my wife know you called her fat. 😉 think she tips the scale at 96lbs.

Good news, new cylinder for the splitter showed up today. Ups driver had enough brains to dump it off the truck by the shop like I requested. Shipped in a wooden crate, fairly impressed by that. I figured it would be in some shrink wrap with a shipping label slapped on it.
It's mounting is slightly different from my current splitter, 1 1/4" rear pin, vs 1" and the mount ears are 1" shorter. Shouldn't be a big deal. I'll just space the push plate 1" further front. Ironically, digging through the junk I found an old hydraulic cylinder I had torn apart to fix, realized the inside had some pitting and tossed under a shelf, and it's got a 2 3/8" inner bore. Perfect! Only other challenge is the work ports stick straight off the one side. I think I have a reasonable work around, but I'm pretty sure I'll have to use a 90* fitting on the return side. Not thrilled about that, but I think I should have some high flow 90* hydraulic fittings here somewhere. If not I'll probably just make a new hose up with a 90* fitting on the end and call it a day. Would be the only one in the system, so I'm not going to loose any sleep over it.

In other news, wife gave me the ok to go used truck shopping. Haven't found any good reasonable priced used engines for it. Machine shops wants what a reman engine from jasper or promar wants just for doing the machine work. Which is disappointing.
As much as I like the truck, it's worth about $3k complete, just not worth it.
Her stipulations were, needs back doors that open and she needs to be able to drive it if I'm not around. So at least extended cab and auto. I'd honestly like a diesel again too. Not sure how that will play out within my price range, but we'll see.

I don’t live in a HOA but my good pal does

Hearing all the BS they put him through has me hating them for all of humanity
Thanks for taking the load off some of us. I dislike HOA's too, but I won't waste any energy hating them now. I'll just go back to hating on professional baseball, WD40, slow drivers in the hammer lane, and the like. ;)

Sorry but I had to laugh at this. We have all been there.

Did you feel better after the four horsemen of the apocalypse left or did you still feel lousy for a few days?

One of the guys I work with, had the chance to get rid of the hoa in his development. There was a clause after 10 years to disband it, when the time came his neighbors voted to keep it. He's been talking about moving somewhere else after his son graduates just to get away from the hoa.
HOA's should be called HOYA's, Hover Over Your Azz.

Your wife said that you were busy that day and that she wanted some hubby time. She mixed in a bottle of Exlax with your breakfast. 🤣 I have that kind of day once every 5 years just before a Colonoscopy.

Felt fine Sunday after I woke up, little run down but otherwise fine.
