even thought i found a 064.
i did find a 064 but the stihl dealer that had it would not budge. the saw was complete minus the bar and had a scored piston. i offerd more then ive ever offerd for project saws. i offerd 100 bucks first then 200 then dealer not biteing
so i said put a price on it and ill see if i can afford it. the dealer wouldnt even put a price to it. he just kept going off about how parts to rebuild the top end are 350 and yadyyada , i go yeah thats why most get thrown in the dumpster. or pieced out. he doesnt know the 066 big bore kits exist.
anyways i was pretty bummed i didnt get it. theres another saw lost to parts pieces and then the dumpsteer .
i then spotted dolmar sign and went in. they had some new saws even big ones but no projects. guy let me go in the back and they had some big hommies and david bradley things that looked like chain saws.
then finaly i made the drive back home, 50 miles and decided to check a old guy that has lawn more service shop. he used to be husky and still dealer. were talking way back when saws the the 056 were knew
thats exackly what i found a complete 056 super. how many cc's is the super. and a 045.
i guess the 056 isnt complete, its missing the muffler and filter cover. it has scored piston but not bad. ebay has some aftermarket 056 54mm pistons(how bigs the super)
the 045 is cleaner and more complete but i like the 056 more. the 56 has full wrap and big dawg on it. and might fill my big saw gap 42". i also think i can get it running. theyre seems to be enough parts on ebay that i could build it. ohhhhhh i know where theres a box off 056 parts at another dealer.
anyways i offerd 50 bucks for the 056, and offcourse this guy doesnt take plastic money. only local checks and cash. so i go dign in the truck lookin for a check cause i never have cash, heck i havent wrote a check since the 066 giveaway
long story short im going back monday to get the 056. i think itl be cool havn a project saw that i can cut big wood with and itl look cool sitn on a shelf in my grage next to the 372 and 44s.
