southernmost tip of the rockies
hey been logging for several years and am interested in starting my own small outfit,i am interested in a small self powered log loader for a 5 ton military 6x6 truck does anyone have any ideas or websites that i might search?biggest log i would be lifting would be maybe 16'30" any info appreciated!
 
Bailey's has got some self-contained units on their website. Might check out Pierce-Pacific too. Keep an eye out for auctions too!

if you get a chance to operate the machine before you buy make sure you put the boom on the ground and push down. feel for slop in the main slew bearing. that will be an expensive fix. if you have logging equipment dealers around go for a brand that has good support in the area. if you dont, go for a machine that has and engine brand with good local support.

cool i have seen the units in baileys and they dont look quite beefy enough for what i need,there is a possibility i could get into some large wood and would rather be overprepared,but i will definately check out pierce pacific thnx::

good advice!i will be sure to check that if i get a chance,i am at the southernmost tip of the rockies here in new mexico so i will probably have to travel to either coast to find a decent price on a rig?but anyways i will search the sites you sent thnx 4 advice!
