Any tips on selling off quality wood? I have 2 beautiful 12' 18"dia black walnut logs 1 is nice and straight the other has a slight crook to it. I'd hate to make firewood out of them.

I feel your pain. We cut up more Black Walnut for fire wood than I care to remember. Every time we called the mills it seemed Walnut was down, they didn't need any, was it grown in the wild, no yard trees. Good luck, Joe.

It actually was a back yard tree but it was owned by an elderly woman and it was well taken care of, nice and clean no metal just a beauty. That's why I'm looking to sell the log. A car dealer bought the property next door and he didn't like the walnuts falling on his cars, so he talked to her and paid for me to take it down. I really don't want to burn this thing. Anyone know what the average price for something like this before the market crashed?

Honestly its not worth it. We just had some beautiful big cherry, straight as an arrow, no rot, no low limbs, nice light color. I brought one load to the mill, got next to nothing for it. The other 2 loads went to firewood. Its sad but it's just the way things are right now.

Check the milling forum. You might not get any cash for it but you may find someone that could mill it . Or you could mill it yourself and try to get rid of it that way.
