I bought a five foot length of bee line to make my own split-tail. I attached it to a biner with a fishermens knot then using a big fishing hook with the barb ground off i ran some heavy thread throu the middle of the tail from the knot, whipped it and ran it throu at the end of the whip, then pulled it throu to lock the the whip. I then covered it with super glue.
I have since heard that running thread throu the rope can weaking it causing it to tear the inside of the core of the rope. I did the end the same way but that shouldn't be a problem. Is this unsafe and did I undermine the integrity of the Bee-line? Beastmaster
