We use them at work, but I just picked up a few to use at home, use a shackle to quickly attach/remove a portawrap to a sling or whoopie. I'm just curious if there's any advantage or disadvantage to this versus girth hitching the eye with the tight bend radius the eye makes over the pin? I'm thinking of trying to find or fabricate a large bushing to increase the bend radius to decrease strength loss at the eye. Any thoughts?

At home aka sidework......

But yes, I have a few rather large oaks in the yard to take some large dead out of as well as a few 24-30" dbh white poplars to piece down in the yard, so I suppose I will also be using thus "at home".

I've done it both ways, a shackle or heavy carabiner is easier to set up real tight. the downside is that it wears on the porty a lot faster.
