Alright..... excuse my inexperience on this one. Hoping a pro will answer.... can't seem to get a straight answer from some other tree guys. Do you have to adjust the cutter bar every time you sharpen your blades or replace them with new ones?

Thanks,
Keith

Chipper Knives

The anvil on the chipper should be adjusted everytime knives have been changed. The distance between the knives and anvil is usually a 1/16" to 1/8" and will create a quality chip. When changing knives always turn the disc or drum backwards and check your distance between the knives and anvil. By turning this backwards will save the knife and anvil edge if they were to hit. The biggest thing to remember is adjusting the anvil when you go back to new knives as they will hit. Usually disc chippers anvils can be used to about 900 hours and they usually aren't a style that has many edges. Drum style wood chippers anvils can usually be used 4 times. You can usually get 3 sharpenings out of a set of knives.

I hope this helps!
