...perhaps Hilo Hawaii to hang out with Mike Krauss or northern Cal to climb big trees?...

Naah, I'm just winding up the rumor mill to save someone else the trouble...

Yesterday I made an announcement to those in my e-dress book that as of Friday February 28th it became official, Sherrill Incorporated is (again) a shared business, this time between the investment firm Generation Equity Investors (Boston, MA), Sherrill's president Alma Hill and of course my wife Anne and I. I say "again" because years ago I gifted a block of stock to employees (free) for their commitment and devotion to the corporation and ended up buying that back at a generous premium. Today I report that, as always, the management team at Sherrill has grand ambitions of remaining the premier supplier of arborist gear and that with additional and strong partners we hope to attain several goals that I have for the business, for Vermeer dealers and especially arborist customers in general.

Well, that's about it, just thought you'd care to get it from the horses mouth verses the grape vine. Now back to final touches on our 2008 catalog for me.

Oh yea, and as for moving west? --- Not happenin'. I love my home here in North Carolina, love my company and I love this job of serving TREE GEAR to TREE PEOPLE. No friends, your biggest fan's not going anywhere.

Wishing all the best!

Do NOT do that again!! I'm getting too old for a scare like that!

I drive by your place every few days and the sign reminds me to stop at Vermeer (off Sandy Ridge) to put more $$$ in your pockets.

Keep up the good work.....

Heck, that would have been real news--someone actually leaving NC. We're swamped with snowbirds.

Okay, y'all. Yankee go home!
