Sherrils new catalog the INNOVATION, lists a new form of splicing. It is called the Grizzly splice. It looks VERY different. The prices are right though for a special limited time. Is it worth getting one of these? I am looking for people with experince with them.

Me being a splice man i like the tuck myself it is more smooth and streamline. There is nothing wrong with trying new things although this is not new but this looks like the easy way out for something that takes much talent and practice probably takes little 2 no time or effort required to make this splice i do not like because stiff and bulky and not streamline. I do like b-line but just tie the (dfl) knot this knot cinches carabiner and stayes tight when i advance. A splice slides down carabiner but a little ugly tape will prevent this. I like 2 use the distel friction hitch 4 lanyard/climbing and a few other things.

Good thread, I plan on looking at the splice at on display TCIA next weekend, I am curious about it also. The advertisement claims it to be stronger than convential splice. Also probably developed because many of the popular lines like true blue have never been able to splice, because of the 12 strand make up. I question the compactness of this splice also, being side by side, and the durability of what looks like a clear rubber shield over the splice. Look forward to hearing some usage reports on it.

That thing is bound to get stuck from time to time when getting pulled back through a tight crotch... Probably won't through a fixie false crotch set up either.... Let us know if you like it... untill then you can call me a Luddite!
