Should I cut down this Red Maple?

I just noticed the trunks of my red maple to be in pretty bad shape. Should I have the tree cut down? Thank you for your input.

Yes.

the big concern is that there is very little sign of reaction wood for a wound that has clearly been open for quite a while. that doesn't leave hope that it is going to get better from here.
