Silver maple success!

My milling partner and I tackled the silver maple trunk I found a few weeks ago. No Metal! This was a south tacoma yard tree and I am so happy to not find metal. We cut most slabs at 3.5" thick and the last two at 4" just to utilize the rest of the trunk. I love the termite stuff and the voids. Wow, that is some beautiful wood!

The slabs would make some very nice table tops or do you have any other plans for them?

One heck of a CSM you have there as well!

I milled them that thick in case they warp or cup a bit while drying I can still have some meat left after surfacing them.
