how do you silvey r2 users insure your cutters are all the same legnth from side to side(of grinder). What is acceptable variation in cutter legnth for working chain ?? thanks frank

An easy way is to grind the side with the shortest cutters first, then move the chain to the other side. Pick up one of the fresh ground cutters down toward the bottom of the chain and bring it up to compare side by side with a cutter on the side your grinding now. Keep bringing the second side down until it matches the first. I hope this makes sense. Eyeballing them back to back right in front of your nose makes them about as close as you could get.So there really isnt any variation.

Thank you John that does make sense,I have been using calipers tough to do unless you remove chain from grinder.
