I am thinking about buying a stump grinder attachment for my cat skid steer, can someone please tell me if they are worth having or not. Im not concerned about getting it in to tight places, just quickly grinding big stumps and uproots.

we recently bought a stump grinder for our Gehl 6640. boss loves it, i haven't had the chance to use it. i don't know the specs for it, i will try to get the website for it.

I'll bring back out an old topic

So what is the answer on a skid grinder. Yes or no Take away the tight areas. Does it grind at a normal pace? Are the chips, chips or dust. And for guys with only one grinder in mind and already have the skid steer large enough is it an option worth looking into or does its negatives out way the cost of a walk beside.

I am hoping to have one of each on my lot only if it is worth while. Many times the loader is already there and loading an attachment takes no time....

But if it takes three hours compared to one then it isn't worth it...

Skidsteer stumpgrinder

I bought one new a few years ago. Never used it! Reason, customers don't want their yards bungled up. I wound up getting a self-propelled Carlton and a small Praxis. Decide WHERE your jobs are going to be before you invest in a skidsteer stumpgrinder.

long time since i read this post... i forgot to get the stump grinder website... until i got the new tree service mag. www.ptostumpgrinders.com they had an ad in the mag which made me remember. the company who makes them is "Miller Stump Grinding/er"
we did use it on our Gehl. i am no longer with the company as of 4 months ago. before i left, we had it for roughly 2 months. it worked great. produced small chips/large dust particles. chips were well contained- not like our self-propelled grinder (promark) that threw chips 30-40 feet from stump
the grinder does need a high-flow system. has a 3 axis grinding capability, with extra honda motor to provide axis movement so skidsteer can focus only on spinning the wheel
the company is located in Indiana, my employer drove to pick it up, i do not know if they deliver or how that works out.
if you need more infocontact my employer at [email protected]
his arborist site name is Xander2797 if you would like to PM him

edits were for spelling errors
