We have an opportunity to pick up an older f700 with a Skyworker 1044A boom for just a song and dance. I am not familiar with this bucket and need some feedback about them. Have any of you guys run one of these? Are they safe? I believe that the boom is aluminum covered with fiberglass? Is there anything in particular that needs to be checked out? Any feedback is appreciated.

Any skyworker is going to be fairly old.I cant remember when they went out of business but there is a fellow down in GA that sells parts and services them.
We owned a skyworker and never had any problems with it except i didnt like the 3 lever system. As far as parts go i believe there less expensive to work on than the other brands.

I believe skyworker went out of business and became Aerial Lift of Conn. Very similiar design and a very versatile boom.

Aerial lift copied skyworkers boom from what i understand.Send a PM to sonny on A/S he has a great deal of skyworker knowledge.
