First pic. I squared a blank and cut a top radius,,,this is for the top of the box...

I glued the 1/2 inch ends I cut off earlyer and put me a shim,,really,,,paper shim at .030 thousands for the top to open ,and clearance,,and layed out for dowelling the ends for a hindge....

Thank you all my friends that got me into millin, helped me,this is a wonderfull hobby I been enjoying so much.....I'll post finished pics when she's done.. :)

Very nice.
By the time a piece of wood makes it to the fire wood pile I have to be getting real cold or I just can not see it being of use. I have a growing assortment of project wood. The other day I started making a set of croquet balls and a mallet, which may turn into a nest box full of eggs before I get a croquet set turned to proper size. I had a piece of apple firewood in the back of my truck when a friend brought over some homemade blackberry brandy as a gift so I grabbed that stick of wood and turned a goblet. I need more storage or more time for projects.

Finished today,,and Thank you all....

I hope this helped for someone as I did to search on how to make a band saw box,,,now there are alot more diffrent ways I seen on here,,,but it's hard to find anything that show a step by step way of doing it and thats why I wanted to show how I made this one...
This was a pretty fun project ...It didnt take alot of tools or machines to make this,,bandsaw,, belt sander,,,drill press,,alot of hand sanding,,but it was fun and relaxing,,and will make a nice gift for a friend of mine..
This was one of the scrap slabs I was gonna go ahead and cut up for firewood,,and glad I didnt...Now,,,I still dont know exactally what kinda tree it is..I been told so many diffrent things,,but this is the one from the ice storm last year that I cut and milled for the man in Richmond,,and he said it was german oak,,what ever that is,,cause thats the first time I heard of that...
The lighting was kinda off on this and makes it look lighter,,but this is part of the slab I got it from.....
