Solo 665

I have a Solo 665 on its way to me. Will post pics once I get it and get it cleaned up. Does anyone know where I could find a new clutch cover for it? Most likely Ill just re spray the one on the saw, not sure how Ill get a new decal for it. I think parts are hard to find. Some parts are hard to find anyhow, as its basically the same saw as a dolmar 6400, just looks better. heres a pic of one, the one I got is not near as nice.

Would a air filter from a Makita 6421 or Dolmar 6400 fit the Solo 665, anyone would know, please reply

The 665 is still a current model and all parts (including decals) can be ordered if not held in stock by an agent.
The only problem you might have is finding your closest Solo agent.

A 665 is a bit more saw than a 6400. 1mm longer stroke and a bottom fed closed-port cylinder. Good runners for sure

Good info, thank you guys. I cant believe you can still possibly buy a new Solo 665? I mean I cant find parts at all. And I had no idea about the differences between the 665 and the 6400. The 665 I got has a big bore on it, but is supposed to be coming with the original cylinder and piston, un-used. When the saw was new, he took off the original cylinder and big bored it. So Im hoping the original cylinder is still in good shape, I might just use it. I know on the Makita 6421, its a 47mm bore, but huge transfers. I big bored that saw with the oem 7900 top end, and noticed the original 47mm topend had more get up, more throttle. Thanks for the information. If anyone knows where to get Solo decals, or Solo parts please let me know.

Here’s the IPL for that saw. At least then you can google the parts numbers and see what comes up. I’ve had decent luck doing it that way.

Just put it up as a parts list. I agree, parts shipping would probably be out of control.

A few years back I was able to get some parts for a Solo 656 from sears parts direct, but I don't know if they have parts for a 665.

Its supposed to arrive today. Im hoping its not beat up to bad going thru customs. Hopefully its made it intact. Ill get some pics of it soon as I get it.

It did come with the original cylinder and piston. Id like to get a oem 7900 top end on it. the clutch cover needs work, Id buy a new one but even I could find one I bet it would be expensive. I might just touch it up with paint. I was thinking of maybe just selling it and buying a Makita 7900, but I kinda like the look of this Solo better. Its missing the inner bar spike, really wish I had that. If anyone knows where to get a inner bar spike for it, please let me know.
