I came across a Solo 667 saw at the local scrap yard, and me being the way I am, ended up purchasing it.... I don't have much invested at this time and I really don't need another project. This saw appears to be complete aside from the muffler. There appears to be some scoring on the piston and I was only able to get 91 psi of compression. Under the air filter the carb is extremely clean. The chain brake lever is broken, but it is available from baileys (part # 6073445. http://www.baileysonline.com/Parts/...scellaneous/HAND-PROTECTION-662-667-667SP.axd) I also saw that chainsawr.com has a new piston available for it at a reasonable price (http://store.chainsawr.com/products/solo-662-chainsaw-piston-assembly-48mm-so0006-box-w). Since these had nikosil coated cylinders, i'd guess that the cylinder is probably ok (I didn't remove it, so not sure). Look at the pictures and let me know what you think. According to the acres site this was 69cc saw. I don't know the history of it. Most of these saws had the black top cover, this one however has the red one.
I'd ship for free at $125, but will consider offers. I'm not looking to get rich here, just thought I'd list it here before it gets thrown on everyone's favorite online auction site.
